I began practicing Pilates in the early 2000’s and what initially got me hooked was the positive change in how my body looked. In the years since I have learned about and experienced all that Pilates has to offer – a stronger, leaner, more toned body; improved posture, flexibility and coordination; enhanced performance in daily activities and sports; injury prevention; stress management; to name a few – and for me, what began as a favoured method of exercise has become a lifestyle. Pilates is an integral part of my life and I know that no matter your age, stage of life, fitness level, goals, strengths or limitations, Pilates has something to offer you – Pilates is for every-body.
I’ve been told that my passion and enthusiasm for Pilates is contagious and it’s this passion that led me to become a certified instructor. I find the Human body and its abilities fascinating and I chose to certify in the STOTT PILATES® method because of its emphasis on biomechanics, athletic performance enhancement and rehabilitation. My training is ongoing and I am continuously researching and learning new techniques that I can use to help meet my clients’ unique needs and keep my classes fresh and fun.
My goal as an instructor is to help my clients improve their level of physical fitness and overall health and to help them experience what their own body can do – one of my favourite parts about teaching Pilates is the look on a client’s face when they accomplish something that they didn’t think they were capable of.
